In 2017 Terry, and Lisa took ownership of an 8 acre patch of soggy overgrown land surrounded by the low laying waters on the west end of Cross Lake. No one had done much at all with the property for many years prior to their taking on this land which they knew was more than the sum of what grew over the island choking out any beauty and even less fiscal value anyone else besides Terry, and Lisa could see.

Upon taking over as the new owners of the land, they began in earnest to chip away the clods of muck and mess that was hiding what soon was to be revealed is a brilliant landscape who's beauty was subdued by uncontrolled wild growth.

Equipment to clear the land and excavate overgrowth had to brought to the island via the lake, and as such a barge large enough, and stable enough had to be constructed from scratch.​

Once equipment was able to be moved about safely, the next work to begin was building a dock on the island that would serve as a landing for coming and going on the island.

r the dock was built the work began on cutting, and clearing, the overgrowth, that was thicker than the amazon jungle it seemed. After days and weeks of never ending cutting and clearing, and planning, and re-assessing the planning, and many many many mosquito bites, the land took shape, and the diamond that was buried in the deep rough covering the area was revealed, and today guests and clients see this beautiful sanctuary tucked far away from the crazy world we live in. It's at the moment when people step off the boat that they are confronted with the beauty, and warmth given off by the island that only Terry and Lisa could envision. No outside companies were brought in to perform this work, and in knowing this guests get to see the vision and direction that Terry and Lisa truly saw of what was to become Louisiana's premier private island events venue.
